Services available on Update

MySQL

Currently Update has no official MySQL-server. However, Jonas is running one on our main server. If you have requests regarding the MySQL-server contact him on the alias mysqladmin snabela update.uu.se. The hostname to use is localhost. Jonas has made a webinterface for managing databases https://www.update.uu.se/createdb/ and here is phpmyadmin for administration of the database. Contact mysql at update if you need to have special privileges set, or need to access the database from anything outside localhost.

Subversion

There exist a subversion server at Update that is available for any memberrelated project. Please note that ONLY the person hosting the project on Update need to be a member. Other project members with read/write access does not have to be members.
Because the administration of it is largely automated, the setup takes virtually no time at all.

There is no web interface for that, but if you log in to psilocybe you could run : svn2update to get a small manual for the service.

To set up a repository you do: svn2update [user-]projectname

To import an existing source tree into it you do: svn import /path/to/source svn://svn.update.uu.se/projectname

Then you can check out the tree from the repository with: svn checkout svn://svn.update.uu.se/projectname

Please note that if you try to access your repository from psilocybe, you need to use "localhost" instead of "svn.update.uu.se".
