The Ego Centre
Oh dear, you seem to have stumbled into some kind of museum dedicated to some hitherto unknown Swedish woman. A neon sign happily tells you:
Well, you followed the link, so you get what you were asking for!
About my name:
My full name is Judit Linnéa Margareta Stensdotter Anglemark. Before I got married, my last name was Jonsson. Linnéa is a common name in Sweden; in fact it is the name given by the botanist Carolus Linnaeus (Carl von Linné) to his favourite flower. His name was constructed by his father from the Latin word for "linden tree" since there were two great linden trees growing on the estate of the Linnaeus family.
About me:
I was born in Uppsala, Sweden on March 20, 1973. After several years of school, in Katedralskolan and other schools, I embarked upon my career (hah!) at the University of Uppsala.
For a few years, I studied English, Latin and some other stuff like philosophy; to the surprise of many, including myself, I actually managed to produce both a C-level and a D-level paper in English linguistics. In the spring of 1996, I decided to become a librarian, and in the autumn semester of the same year, I started my education at the Department of Library and Information Studies. A few months after finishing library school, I was fortunate enough to land a job at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, where I worked from 1998 to 2002 at the Ultuna library which is located just outside Uppsala. During this time I worked with cataloguing and indexing, circulation, and at one of the branch libraries, and I was a member of the library's web site team.
In January, 2003 I was accepted to the graduate programme at the Department of English, again at the University of Uppsala, where I am now pursuing a PhD degree. My subject area is Internet English.
I used to sit in one of Uppsala's political boards for the Liberal party of Sweden
(Folkpartiet).
In my free time, I enjoy reading, choir singing, playing board games and role playing games and listening to music. And, of course, spending time with my friends on- and off-line, most notable of whom is my husband, Johan. We got married in June, 1998.
I have been involved in Tolkien fandom since 1990 or so, and hang out on the fringes of science fiction fandom. I seem to have much of my social life online, probably at least in part because I write better than I talk. I find human languages one of the most fascinating things in the whole world.
On a table in a secluded corner of the building, a green book lies furtively. It doesn't do anything to draw your attention. The cover says "Photo Album" in gold print. Oh, no!
You may open the book if you like.
In April, 2002 I started keeping a web diary called Néablog. It is primarily in English, and has a guest book attached...
